The Sunday Mirror reports that the Saints are leading the chase for the 16-year-old, who is a regular for the second-tier club in Sweden.
Several clubs in Italy and Germany as well as Swedish league leaders Gothenburg are also keeping tabs on York.
“When you see him play, you can’t believe he is a 16-year-old,” said his agent Michael Kallback.
“There is huge interest from half-a-dozen European clubs.”
York could leave Sandviken for a bargain £156,000.
