Spalletti has been linked with a move away from the club in the Italian press in recent weeks.
He told RomaChannel: “More than happiness, I prefer to say passionate. In these past four years we have enjoyed many happy evenings, in which we have celebrated some great successes. However, it’s the passion that makes the difference not whether I am happy [or not].
“Since taking charge of the Giallorossi, I have arrived every morning at nine and gone home no earlier than six. I can remember every training session and I have always dedicated myself 100% to my work. If someone is not happy in their job, then they cannot give their all in their position.”
“Passion is fundamental for a profession,” he added.
“I am happy here at Roma and I will always return in the future, even when I’m not the coach anymore. The Roman people have a great affection for sport and only those who have experienced such affection can describe what an added incentive it is. However, I don’t wish to discuss my future at the club in public, as this is a matter for the club and myself.”
