The Czech side only managed a 1-1 draw with the Russian side.
“I could seee that the players had great motivation. We went into the match with the strongest team possible, and with the right mentality,” Chovanec told Mediafax.cz after the game.
“Our opponents were able to beat everyone in our group, so we had great respect for them.
“But we should have had a victory. We had one or two chances more than CSKA. I am disappointed, but it is a shame.
“We learned a lot from our first match against them. It is not often that a team like us has the chance to defeat a team like CSKA.
“Even though I am disappointed with the result, I am satisfied with the performance of the team.”
