But the Chilean midfielder admits he expects a tough game against their rivals.
“The match against Benfica will be a rather complicated game for us as they are a good team. However, we have set our sights on the full three points and will do our utmost to record a win,” said Fernandez on the official Sporting CP website.
“Benfica certainly won’t be pushovers though. We are pretty high on confidence following our Europa League game against Rangers last Thursday. It’s important to make a good start and get a good result.
“We hope that the fans will show up in large number to support us and help us on our way to the full three points.”
