A brace from Roman Pavlyuchenko and one goal from Jermain Defoe secured the win for Spurs.
“Terrific result,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“I felt today was going to be a difficult day because they are playing well. They are strong and they started the game well. The first 10-15 minutes they were on the front foot.
“They are a good team and they will win plenty of games. It was a big three points for us.”
“I wouldn’t have been disappointed if we had come in at half-time 0-0,” he said.
“I felt we played well first half, we got on top in the last 20 minutes of the half and really dominated.
“I was pleased with the way we were playing and the goal was the icing on the cake. To come in 1-0 was a big boost for us, so that was important.”
Spurs are currently leading the race for the last Champions League spot this season.
He said: “I think us and Aston Villa were the two clubs at the start of the season that no-one would have seen in the top four – everybody felt Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal would dominate and Manchester City would be the team who would push for that spot.
“Maybe they will be right in the end, it might decide that way. But we have had a great year.”
