Spurs boss desperate to keep Modric

Rednapp admits he is keen for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to sort out the Croatian midfielder’s contract.

Modric played a key role in Spurs’ 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Monday.

“Luka was fantastic, him and Scott Parker have been outstanding together,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“I love Luka, I love the way he plays his football and he’s an absolutely top-class professional and a great guy.”

Redknapp added, when asked about news on Modric’s contract: “I don’t know where the chairman is. I don’t really get involved in that.

“You’ve got to keep Luka here. You don’t get too many Luka Modrics coming along and we are looking to really be a big club.

“The chairman showed that in the summer. He said he’s not going and he stuck by it.

“I am sure he will look after him and hopefully get the contract sorted.”
