Bent has been a hit at Sunderland since joining the club from Spurs last year, scoring 21 goals so far this season.
“He has had a terrific season,” Redknapp said. “I thought Darren would score his share of goals.
“But I was OK as I had Jermain Defoe and he has scored goals for us.”
