Kranjcar started just two games in the league for Spurs last season and has long been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane.
“We are about to close a deal with Sunderland,” Kranjcar’s agent Adrian Aljai was quoted by the Daily Express.
“I believe that is the best solution for Niko.”
