Coulthirst has joined the Latics on loan until November.
“He’s a young player full of potential and needs experience, we will see how he progresses,” Wigan boss Gary Caldwell told the club’s official website.
“His qualities will certainly bring something new to the group and provide competition up front. He’s here for three months then we will see how things go.”
