Galtier’s previous deal was set to expire in June, but the new deal will keep him at St Etienne until the summer of 2014.
“We are delighted to formalise today the extension of Christophe Galtier to ASSE for three more seasons,” St Etienne president Romeyer Roland told the club’s official website.
“This is an important decision to give the club stability.”
Galtier added: “I am happy and proud at the confidence that the leaders have shown me in extending my contract for three more seasons.
“We are undertaking a real project.”
