The new deal will keep the 34-year-old at St Etienne until the summer of 2013.
“I have just signed a contract extension until June 2013 with ASSE,” he wrote on Twitter. “Thank you again to the staff and chairman.”
Janot has spent his entire career with St Etienne and made his debut for the club in 1996.
