The 32-year-old has signed a two-year contract with St Etienne following his release by Marseille at the end of last season.
“Everyone knows Brandao’s qualities. He is a player who works hard, (he’s) a warrior,” said St Etienne CEO Roland Romeyer.
“Throughout his career he has scored important goals,” Romeyer continued. “I remember his goal against Lyon last season in the final of the League Cup and one against Inter Milan which helped OM reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. His record speaks for itself.”
