Strachan said: “I hope Shaun can put the contract talks out of his mind. He’s got a great attitude to the game as well as being a smashing player. And the great thing about him is he feels the need to prove himself every week.
“I want to work with him for the next two or three years but I only deal with the football side of the business. I don’t know where his contract talks lie.”
