Stuttgart won the game 2-1 and Gross felt his side deserved the three points.
“Nuernberg played with a lot of passion. After they had gone behind they put us under even more pressure and got the upper-hand in the midfield,” said Gross on the official Stuttgart website.
“But we defended very well today. We started the match well, but at half time I considered strengthening our midfield. In the end, it was our desire to win that got us the three points – which, when you see the chances we had, wasn’t undeserved.
“Now we want to get a win against HSV next weekend, that’s our next task. We have been working hard every day and today we were rewarded for that effort.”
