Stuttgart are reportedly closing in on signing the Slovakia international, according to Stuttgarter Zeitung.
Weiss spent much of last season on loan at Bolton and impressed for Slovakia at the World Cup.
“It is a fact we are looking at the player,” Stuttgart general manager Fredi Bobic told Deutsche Presseagentur.
The 20-year-old’s contract with City is set to expire in the summer of 2012.
