Sunderland ace looking to keep improving

Henderson made his debut for the Three Lions in their 2-1 defeat to France last week.

“I don’t want to be somebody who has played for England once,” he told The Times. “I’m not settling for it. I want to push on.

“It was a tough game, another step up. France were very good. I think I could have done a little bit more. I need to get better.

“I’ll take the positives from it – the experience, what I’ll learn from it – but I think I could have taken a few more risks.

“It doesn’t matter where you play – you have to do your best. I don’t think the position comes into it.

“If I played well or badly it’s down to me. If I started at right-back or centre-back I’ve got to do the job to the best of my ability.”
