The Paraguay international defender’s move to Mexican side Cruz Azul has fallen through, but Bruce has revealed interest from Spanish side Real Zaragoza in the 30-year-old.
The Sunderland boss told The Journal: “Paulo turned down the move to Cruz Azul and I think the Mexican window is shut.
“There is interest in Spain and that might develop. Real Zaragoza want him, so something might happen there.”
