The Daily Mail reports that Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has sent scouts to Argentina to make checks on the Estudiantes star.
Blackburn, Birmingham and Wigan are also reportedly keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.
Reports say Estudiantes are ready to sell the striker for £8million.
