The Mirror reports that Bruce is keen to beat Tottenham in the £12million race to sign the forward in the summer.
Bruce is looking to bring in a new forward following the club’s sale of Darren Bent to Aston Villa in January and as Danny Welbeck is set to return to Manchester United at the end of the season.
Bruce reportedly had top spy Dean White to watch Gameiro in action at the weekend.
