Stokes told the Northern Echo: “They’re both top managers and they are both desperate to win every game they are involved in.
“There’s a similarity in that they both will rotate the squad and rest players where necessary for the good of the club.
“Our gaffer is different in a lot of ways to Arsene Wenger, mainly in terms of his personality and his approach to dealing with his players.
“Roy Keane has brought with him that Manchester United ethos of how to play. It’s similar to the way Arsenal play and he isn’t likely to just say let’s stick a big man up front and just play off him.
“You can see that every week because of the way we set out to play. The main thing he has tried to emphasise is that he has brought in players that he thinks will play the way he wants.”
