Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag have added Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni to his shortlist.
Spanish outlet Sport claims the Dutchman has urged the Manchester United hierarchy to complete a deal for the French midfielder.
United are set to complete their signing of Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund over the weekend and it is expected that they will move onto potential midfield signings after that.
Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat has been reported to be close to joining United, but they face competition as both Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in the midfielder.
Ten Hag sees Tchouameni as an alternative to Amrabat, but it is expected that he will be a more expensive solution.
The report claims United could make a bid of around €80million for the midfielder, similar to what Real Madrid paid when they first signed him from Monaco.
Liverpool have also been reported to be keen on signing Tchouameni, if they get the opportunity.
