Tottenham set for £60m summer spending spree

News of the World says Spurs are set for a £60m summer spending spree, the club’s biggest-ever transfer kitty.

Spurs boss Martin Jol wants to bring in Charlton striker Bent and Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder Nani.

Nani is also a summer target for Premiership champions Manchester United.

Spurs have allready landed Gareth Bale from Southampton for £5.5million.

Jol is also considering making a move for Middlesbrough’s Stewart Downing and West Ham’s Nigel Reo-Coker.

Berbatov looks set to be offered a new £50,000-a-week deal to keep him at White Hart Lane for next season.

A Spurs insider revealed: “Berbatov will be offered a massive new deal in excess of £50,000 a week and the club is also ready to embark on a huge spending spree.”
