Townsend’s father insists the winger is keen to stay with Spurs and prove himself.
The highly-rated winger has been linked with the likes of Aston Villa and West Ham in recent days.
Townsend’s father, Troy, told Sky Sports News: “Andros’ mind is on Tottenham . He’s grown up at the club and that’s where he wants to be. You can’t stop rumour, there’s been rumour every year around the deadline.
“But he wants to prove himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s team and hopefully that’s what he’ll be given the chance to do.”
