Tehsin Nayani, who represents the Glazer family, insists the club will not ‘pay over the odds for players’.
“The manager has a significant amount of money to invest if he wants to,” said Nayani to The Telegraph.
“But the truth [as to why he has not used the funds] is a lot more prosaic. The delay is because the manager has not been able to locate the players that he believes fit the Manchester United mindset.”
“You don’t want mercenaries, to pay over the odds for players not willing to give their all for the club,” he concluded.
