English football in general has improved its image regarding racism by eliminating much of the abuse once received by players, but not at Port Vale where Geohaghon plays.
“It had always had a nasty edge to it, but this was personal and racist. Things were being thrown at me, and as I looked over, I distinctly heard “black b******” and “n*****.” There was so much abuse, but those words stood out.”
