Mata was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona over the summer but Los Che managed to keep him at the club.
The 22-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
“We have not settled on a day for the meeting yet, but it is certain that the desire is there,” Mata’s father and agent, Juan Mata snr, said.
