Reports have suggested that the 38-year-old could decide to retire at the end of the season.
“Manchester will make it known officially on Friday,” Rob Jansen told ANP. “We have already been in talks about a new contract for a couple of weeks.
“Now we have reached an agreement. It is for one year. What will happen after that, I don’t know.”
Van der Sar joined United from Fulham in a £5million deal in 2005.
