The 26-year-old could leave the club for free, according to FIFPro attorney Wil Van Megen, as he has lost his jersey number at the club.
“They have not given the player any number, which makes it seem like that they have not respected the contract they signed with him,” Van Megen told Voetbal International.
Inter and Stuttgart are reported to be interested in Van der Vaart.
