The two sides played out a toughly fought 0-0 draw but Lazio were impressive throughout.
“It was a difficult game in terms of possession and Lazio put us under serious pressure,” Villas Boas told Sky Sport Italia.
“We started well, but towards the end of the first half we suffered a lot. They did very well. I think the draw is a good result for us.
“Gareth Bale’s goal should not have been disallowed… just like the in the game at White Hart Lane.”
