Vokes insists he is focusing on his loan at Brighton, following the recent dismissal of manager Mick McCarthy at parent club Wolves.
“It will be a completely different place if I did go back there because I’ve never experienced Wolves without Mick McCarthy at the helm,” Vokes told Sky Sports.
“I learned a lot from him and was sad to see him go.
“They are stuck in a relegation battle at the moment, so I presume their attentions will be focused on that more than my situation.
“I’m enjoying my time here at Brighton, so I’ll just continue putting everything into the play-off push here unless I’m told otherwise by Wolves down the line.
“I feel really settled here now and it is a great club that seems to be going places with a new stadium and everything in place now.
“There’s a great bunch of lads here and the coaching staff are excellent too, so I’m just looking forward to the rest of the season here.”
