Arsenal and Newcastle drew 0-0 but Gervinho was sent off for reacting to Joey Barton when the midfielder grabbed him.
Wenger insisted that Barton, who also provoked Abou Diaby’s into pushing him in the same game last year, should have seen red.
Barton took issue with Gervinho for diving, and after the Ivorian slapped him he went to ground easily himself, and admitted doing so after the game.
