The game at Fratton Park ended in a 1-1 draw.
Zola told Sky Sports: “I should be pleased because it is a very good point against a team that is behind us.
“But I thought the way we played and the way we were in control of the game I thought we were going away with more than one point.
“But its okay – I think as I said we played a good match, we had control of the game and we created many chances.
“Unfortunately we didn’t convert all of them but I am pleased with the performance of the team, the commitment of the players right now is fantastic and there is a very good positive guarantee for the future.”
He added: “As I said I am delighted with the attitude that the players are playing with, I think if we maintain that kind of attitude we are going to be alright.”
