Hammers’ chairman Eggert Magnusson wants to bring in Gallardo to replace Carlos Tevez, according to The Sun.
The 31-year-old has 44 caps for Argentina and he has just a year left on his contract with the French club.
A source close to the Argie told The Sun: “Marcelo is one of the names who has been put forward to Magnusson’s people.
“He is similar to Tevez but at least his economic rights are not owned by anyone else!”
