The Sun reports that the Hammers last night made a formal £1.25million bid for Blackpool striker Campbell.
The 29-year-old has a get-out clause in his contract, following Blackpool’s relegation to the Championship.
The Hammers have also made a £3million bid for Newcastle star Kevin Nolan.
Nolan has two years left on his contract at Newcastle, but could be interested in a move as he fears he will not get regular first-team action at St James’ Park next season.
