West Ham boss Avram Grant has confirmed that the 30-year-old id not travel with the rest of the squad to Anfield.
“Firstly, he is a good player and, secondly, he is a good influence,” said Grant.
“Not just for West Ham, I think he is the best midfield player in England.
“He gives everything and always tries to play – he is one of the best.”
