The 31-year-old recently joined the Hammers from Lyon.
The Frenchman spent much of last season on loan at Portsmouth, while current West Ham coach Avram Grant was in charge at Fratton Park.
“My best characteristics are I’m good in the air, I’m quick and I try to keep the ball,” he said.
“I’m not the most prolific striker, like maybe Fernando Torres or Wayne Rooney, but I think I can score many goals.
“I know English football now and I can score more goals than ever before.”
