Jewell told Sky Sports News: “I’ve never had anything but support from the chairman.
“To be perfectly honest I wouldn’t expect anything other than that because, in the last five years, we have really had unbridled success here.
“I know keeping the club in the Premiership would be a major feat, but if things don’t go well I will have the backing of the chairman – I would be amazed if I didn’t.
“It was never an issue for me, it was never a problem. I’ve got an open relationship with the chairman and if he had something to say I’m sure he would say it, just like I would with him.
“I don’t feel under any extra pressure from the chairman if that’s what you’re asking.”
