The 23-year-old has signed for Wigan on loan until the end of the season.
Wigan manager Gary Caldwell told the club’s official website: “Conor is someone we were looking at last summer and have been keeping a close eye.
“He’s a young player hungry to prove himself and we are delighted he will be able to do that with us for the rest of the season.”
McAleny becomes Wigan’s seventh signing of the January transfer window for Wigan, following the arrival os Yanic Wildschut, Sam Morsy, Ryan Colclough, Reece Wabara, Danny Whitehead and Dan Lavercombe.
