England only managed a 2-2 draw in their Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley this evening.
England had trailed 2-0 after a brace from Tranquillo Barnetta, but a goal each by Frank Lampard and Ashley Young rescued a point for the Three Lions.
Young told ITV Sport: “I think we did, especially in the second half. We created chances and on another day they would have gone in.
“It wasn’t to be and we have got a point, but we are disappointed with that.”
England came close to snatch victory late on in the game, but Darren Bent missed his chances.
Young added: “I was thinking we were going to see the ripple of the net but it wasn’t to be.
“He is disappointed but we created chances.”
Young admits he was frustrated not to start the game against Switzerland
He said: “Of course I was disappointed to be on the bench but I took it on the chin and wanted to come on and do the best I can.
“I thought I did well when I came on but everybody in the dressing room is disappointed we didn’t get the win.
“It is always nice to get on the scoresheet but it would have been a better feeling if we had got the three points.”
