Palermo have struggled at the start of the season and reports have suggested he is close to being sacked.
Zenga said: “Ciro Ferrara has a great squad at his disposal and deserves everything he’s got. They always have that team spirit in the DNA of this club.
“Anyone who steps into the Bianconeri locker room immediately absorbs that winning mentality. Nonetheless, we are not afraid of them.”
“This has been a perfectly normal week for me,” he continued.
“I had a meeting with the President and that did not change my situation. In the last two games we were winning until the 85th minute, so if we had 10 points by now there would be talk of other things.
“There is a splendid rapport with [director Walter Sabatini] and we talk every day. The same goes for President Zamparini.
“This week some critics have dubbed my players ‘flops’, but nobody considers that we were moments away from beating both Lazio and Roma.”
