The Daily Mail reports that Zidane is keen on the job if under-pressure Jose Mourinho gets axed this season.
Pressure is building on the Portuguese manager after a turbulent summer, that has left him in a crisis at Old Trafford. Mourinho is struggling with his relation-ship both with Ed Woodward and star midfielder Paul Pogba.
Zidane is available having left Spanish giants Real Madrid after winning the Champions League in May.
United have publicly backed Mourinho, but reports claim United are working on a plan if Mourinho’s position at the club becomes untenable.
