Zola has been told that he must sell player to raise funds before the transfer window closes.
Players such as Matthew Upson, Charlton Cole and Robert Green could all be allowed to leave the club for the right fee.
“The club are in a state of complete disarray,” a source told the Sunday Mirror.
“The key personnel at the club like Zola, [chief executive Scott] Duxbury and coach Steve Clarke appear to be at war with the board.
“Our interest in the club came to an abrupt end when we discovered what Straumur were intending to do.”
